Vision Inspection System
Changhong's paint inspection system leverages industrial cameras, specialised illumination, image processing, and artificial intelligence to rapidly and accurately examine the coated surface. It autonomously identifies particles, depressions, indentations, colour variations, blemishes, and orange peel, thereafter locating, categorising, assessing, and recording each imperfection. It can replace manual visual inspection, significantly reducing miss and false-positive rates, while supplying a defect database with comprehensive, detailed, and reporting dashboards for process enhancement.

Defect location, type, size, and handling recommendations, etc.
In addition to conventional screen-based display methods, a high-precision projection-based tracking display system may also be employed; this system utilizes two to four projectors to project defect information onto the corresponding locations of the moving vehicle body.
- Detection rate: validated across more than 30,000 bodies, the system reaches a 98.6% body-defect detection rate.
- Installation and commissioning: installed within 3 days of downtime, with model-and-color commissioning of 3 days per color.
- Edge blind zone: after on-site commissioning, the system detects defects located within 3 mm of the edge across all body zones.
- Detection precision: the system detects paint defects down to a minimum particle size of 0.15 mm.
